I have taken 4 different kinds of pregnancy tests over the past weekend. All came back positive. Today is Tuesday and I started bleeding a bit. Nothing heavy enough to require feminine products- but IM worried. Any advice? Answers?

Since some HPT's are so sensitive, they can detect a pregnancy in its very early stages. Unfortunately, it's estimated that up to 50% of pregnancies are lost very early on. In the past, most women did not even realize they were pregnant-- their periods would arrive on time, or perhaps a day or two late. Now, women testing very early may get a positive test, but experience bleeding almost immediately afterwards. This is an early miscarriage, also referred to as a "chemical pregnancy." It is likely that you did conceive and the embryo implanted for a short time before dying. This miscarriage is "disguised" as a period because the bleeding happens right around the time you would expect your period. Because this is so common, you probably have nothing to worry about, medically speaking, if it happens to you once or twice (although it is still heartbreaking when it happens!) If, however, this happens to you more than a couple times, or in consecutive pregnancies, you should discuss it with your doctor, as this can signal a problem (which can oftentimes be corrected with minimal treatment.)

That said, it is also possible to experience some spotting or bleeding and still have a healthy pregnancy, so don't panic! It may be implantation bleeding (from your baby snuggling in your uterus for a nice long stay!) If you experience bleeding after a positive pregnancy test, you should call your doctor.

I know what you mean and I'm having the same problem!! My HPT and serum tests were positive and I started bleeding Sat which would be the time for my cycle!! It's like a light period and my doctor is doing a series of HCG tests to check the level to see if I'm having a miscarriage or if I'm fine!! Others tell me that it's normal to have a period, spotting, or light bleeding or even a period when you first get pregnant so you could be fine, but I would contact my doctor to get a doctor's point of view and try to get some rest!! You could have implantation bleeding or the bleeding from the embryo attaching to the uterine wall! It could be a number of things, but u won't know until you see your doctor! Make sure they rule out urinary tract infection because I had that the week before my test turned out to be positive and someone told me that my bleeding could be from that! If you can't get in to see your doctor, go to the emergency room and tell them what's going on and then follow up with your obgyn in the morning!!

First off, make an appointment with your doctor. Unfortunately, it sounds like you're on your way to having a missed abortion, which is a fancy not-so-nice sounding word for a miscarriage that you aren't aware of. Most women that are one or two days late who aren't actively TRYING to get pregnant wouldn't have even thought to check for pregnancy this early and woul dhave just considered this to be a late period. Your pregnancy tests may stay positive for up to 3 weeks after bleeding starts as HCG levels take their time to fall to non-pregnant levels. ON THE OTHER HAND, you might just be one of those lucky people who gets their period throughout pregnancy or spots thoughout and has a healthy baby at the end of it all. The only way to know this early is to take quantitave HCG tests...they will test your blood to make sure your HCG levels are doubling every 2 days. If they are not DOUBLING at this time, you are most likely miscarrying, in which case you will have a 2 week checkup to make sure your HCG levels are coming down ontheir own and a D & C won't be needed. D & C's are not usually needed with this young of a pregnancy. They may do a trans-vaginal ultrasound but keep in mind that heartbeats are not usually detected until 6 weeks.

If you took 4 test and they all came back positive, then you should go see a Dr. I had every period until I was 5 months pregnant.

You are most likely pregnant. Go to the doctor, but try not to worry. I had two or three periods AFTER conception with both my boys. Each one was scary, try to relax and enjoy.

P.S. If you call the doctor, many of them will tell you to wait. Tell them that you need an appointment right away and explain the situation. If they tell you to wait until six weeks or whatever, call someone else.

you might be having an early miscarriage... if so, there's nothing you can do about it... the baby just didn't "stick."

some women have periods throughout their pregnancies, though, and the baby comes out just fine.

you won't know until you go to the doctor.

i know you're worried... this is a scary experience! just go to the doctor soon so you can find out what's going on. good luck!

Some females do spot during their pregnancy. You should see a gynecologist and check whether you're pregnant or not. If you are, he/she will recommend taking prenatal pills and other medications for a healthy pregnancy.

See a doctor. If four tests said you were pregnant, then you probably are. Do not wait. It is possibly the beginning of a miscarriage.
