Well at this point in time, there has not been a woman that has taken the step to capture the Americans ideals enough to get that much interest in a woman president. This may change this coming election. It is also very interesting that the answer needles gave about nailing the woman. As if I remember it was the Democratic President in office that actually did nail a woman in his presidents office while on duty. I wish I knew who the actual Republican was for her to make this can of assine statement. She must have been a Blond....

There hasn't been a woman yet because of all of the years that they were held back in society...primarily the early 20th century, but it's a tradition that's carried on.
Right now however, I don't think a woman will win, nor should she win (hear me out here) because of the type of people we are dealing with in radical islam and the Middle East. Unfortunately, these people still see women as lesser human beings than men in many instances, and it would be awful strategy to put someone who will instantly lose repsect into the head position of this country. One day however, I hope this will change.

Because women are too smart to want the job?
Seriously, most women do not want that kind of commitment in their career. They tend to focus on family and home life because that's more of a woman's nature. I'm not saying that we could not have a successful female president, but the number of women who would even want the job is far smaller than the number of men who do.
Being President is a 24x7x365 job. Even when the President is on "vacation," he's still working.
I'm sure a lot of people see that posting as sexist, but men and women are different. They have different things that drive them and different goals in life.

I think there hasnt because there are so many simple minded MEN still walking round in the USA... Its ok for women to go and fight to keep thier sorry ***'es free, but not ok for her to run the country.... These sort of ppl are still living in the dark ages where women were seen not heard.. Doing as a man wants her to do. and also if more women step up and let thier rights be heard, go out and vote for the next woman that run's then she would have a fighting chance.. Women sit and talk but most dont take action and get things going.. WOMEN HAVE TO START SHOWING HOW THEY FEEL NOT JUST TALK.. Then maybe Just Maybe a woman can be put in office and do things the Right way!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a man's world but that is finally changing.
The glass ceiling is cracking & educationed women
are using their education to help others. It is just a matter
of time before we have a woman as president - I think in next 10 years.
There are 8 govenors & 15 Lt Govenors now so president is next.

Because none have run for it and won their party's nomination for the office.
We won't have one in 2008 either, because the Carpetbagger has no prayer.

I think it is because of some real secretive organization the is running the show. There is only so much a woman can do according to them. Could be true.
