Well, after the doc asks you lots of questions about sex, drugs use, drinking, etc the pelvic exam will begin. Most likely the doctor will put you on an exam table and leave the room while you take off your clothing. (they leave a drape to cover yourself with, you're not exposed to the world) The doc will come back in, and you'll put your feet into the stirrups, you're basically on your back with your knees bent and legs apart. The doctor will put some KY or other lubricant on the speculum (basically looks like a duck bill). They insert the speculum (they're sized, so it's not going to be too huge) in the vagina and after about 2-3 inches they begin to open it. At this point you'll feel a little pressure and some cracking noises (made by the speculum, not you). The doctor then takes a plastic brush and collects a sample of the fluid on your cervix. After they get the sample, it takes about 1-2 minutes, they'll release the speculum and withdraw it. That's the end of it. It's not fun, but it's not too bad and is very short.

Basically they put a speculum up you (the speculum is smaller than most men are), then open it up a bit, so thay can see up there with a light and makesure everything looks normal, then they take a brush thingy and scape a few cells from your cervix. Doesn't hurt at all. Not pleasurable though, all very clinical and detatched and sometimes the speculum is a little cold.
