This is a serious question. If you're Republican don't instantly conclude this is a jab at you. If you can't answer the question in a straightforward manner, ask yourself why not?

Honestly, I cannot say that I benefited, but I just started out on my own three years ago. However, my family is entirely middle class and none of them have been doing better during the last 5-6 years. In fact, they are doing worse. Sorry Republicans...I have to be straight forward with this. Clinton's Presidency helped my family a hell of a lot more than Bush's (41 & 43) or Reagan's.

I'm a Brit but I'm an observer of the US scene. The bigger picture is that corporate profitability is increased by removing layers of middle management. This is what business is doing in all fields and the middle class is suffering because those middle class jobs are being replaced by computers (management information systems). Executives no longer need to ask Mr Middle Manager how the operatives are performing because the MIS has all the data needed for descision making.

Millions of bright Americans and other westerners are languishing in low paid low skilled work because those middle management jobs are disappearing.

The middle-class can't possible benefit from either right wing or left wing politics. And it doesn't take much brain power to see that. You have a left wing policy of wealth redistribution through taxation. On the other hand, a right wing policy of wealth accumulation. Wealth accumulation means the rich gets the middle-class' money and keep it for themselves. Either way, the middle-class gets the short end.

I'm middle class and a republican, and to be honest they haven't done much to help me. What they have done though, is managed not to mess things up for me. That is the true republican view on gov't. Stay the hell out of my life and I will be fine. I don't need the gov't to try to make things better for me. Liberals would have me taxed to death, as they do now with my NYS taxes. Oh, and republicans have managed not to get us attacked again. Whereas I'm not really sure if that would have been the case with democrats in office.

I seem to remember the first significant benefit from a Republican President was the Emancipation Proclamation.

Many, many benefits have followed from succeeding Republican Presidents and many more are yet to unfold. But you have to look beyond the end of your nose in order to see them. It's called "vision" in case no one ever told you.

Have fun but be safe!

They get to keep more of their hard earned income for one ...

The value system espoused by Republicans is more in line with that of middle America and not Cambridge, Palo Alto or Hollywood like that of the liberals and Democrats.
