The last, and, I think, only, English player in the NBA was John Amaechi, who played for the Utah Jazz, but is currently working in England as a broadcaster.
Edit to add Ben Gordon, born in England, though I don't know if he's a British citizen or not.

I agree with Wilt Chamberlain as the greatest player. However to put Tim Duncan ahead of Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson, Dr J & Jerry West is insane. My top ten 1. Wilt Chamberlain 2. Michael Jordan 3. Magic Johnson 4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 5. Bill Russell 6. Larry Bird 7. Oscar Robertson 8. Jerry West 9. Julius Erving 10. Charles Barkley Also Isaiah Thomas is too high on the list he isn't in the top 50!!!!

There actually are no english players in the NBA. Andrew Betts is an englishman whose rights belong to an NBA team, but has yet to play in the NBA itself.
There are however players with ties to england (i.e. Michael Olowokandi - raised in England).

Yeah, John Aemichi is right, I didn't know about Michael Olawokandi, but I do know that current players Luol Deng (born in Sudan, raised in London), Ben Gordon (born in London), and some guy from England was just drafted by Portland...

No there hasn't been one, well none that I know of... and yeh you can make it to the NBA but it takes hard work dedication to the game and respect for the game those three things don't only make you a better player but a better person as well remember that.
