having a friend clean my house since she is out of work how much is the going rate for a maid?

first , how much of the cleaning will she be doing? how big is the house? for her to mainly dust ,vacuum, floors , and to clean the bathroom. you are looking at 75.00 to 100.00 once a week. now if more work is involved then the price would be more like doing dishes ,windows etc....

Depends on certain factors. What is to be done? How long will it take? How big is your place? It on average takes 3 people to clean one home (average 2 bedroom) in 4 hours so that would be 12 hours for one person. That is cleaning top to bottom, we do: windows inside, everything dusted, all glass cleaned, light fixtures, floors, tubs, sinks ...cost about $125, then on a weekly bases it would cost them about $50 (it's easier after inital cleaning to maintain so it's cheaper, less work, less time, we would be there 2 hours) one person(6hours). Ten Dollars an hour!
This is reasonable. Remember she will not be paying taxes.
Don't think of your friend as a Maid but as a Friend.

I pay my 2 ladies that clean my house for a 2 hr job $60.00 but i only have a 3 bedroom ranch.

I started paying her $35 for once a week. Now it's at $45 for her to come once a week for 2 hours or so.

Call a housecleanign serve in your area and get some estimates... The last time I called it was a minute of one hour @ 60 dollars... and they didn't do windows... hha haa..

twice a month, she works from about 8-12 and charges 65, I have bedroom, 2 bath, den, livingroom, kitchen...
