I think one reason that conservatives want to stop gay marriage is because some conservatives may get married to prove that they're not gay but when gay marriage becomes legal, being married won't exactly prove that they're not gay anymore. Being married would actually be considered more gay. (lol)
Conservatives are just insecure with themselves and their sexuality. Conservatives fear gay people.

I'm a conservative and I'm not obsessed with the homosexuals. Whats wrong is wrong and thats that. I don't want to know about them or why they are what they are. I don't want to fight with them and I'm not "afraid" of them. They're people and I know that and homosexuality is nothing new but has been going on throughout the ages. I'm only concerned with what is right and wrong. And letting people, no matter what they are doing, know that there are consequences for doing those things that are right and for those things that are wrong. You're choice whether you choose to listen or not. Live your life how you want. BUT, life is short, eternity is where you reap what you sow and that is a long time to suffer if thats that path you chose.

Too many people on BOTH sides of the aisle use "gay" as a slur.
I'm not gay, but I'm not a bigot either.
Live and let live.
People should stop referring to their genitals, and start USING their BRAINS!

No ...
its the gay activists who are obsessed, obsessed with throwiing their lifestyle and agenda in everyone's face brining their relationships "out of the closet" (as if anybody asked them to do so ...) and trying to bring their relationships before the courts, the state and national legislatures so as to get legal status, namely gay marriage.
If the gays would just shack up and shut up about it everybody else would be fine with it. But when they march, and protest and go to the courts with their frivolous issues then people rightly get pissed off!

Their gay leaders, Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman send out homophobic talking points as cover for their own proclivities.
Some conservatives are not gay, or testosterone challenged, but they have a burning need to hate another group. It's no longer as acceptable to hate blacks, so they've fixated on gays, and happy day for them, are now able to add a couple billion Muslims to their list.

Umm, they could have stayed in the closet. I don't need to see it every where, my kids don't need to see it on every tv show and they sure don't need a class teaching about it in school.

Because they prefer to forget that we are losing American lives in Iraq and the people over there who didn't hate us before our occupating their country, now want to blow themselves up to kill our troops.

Like any racist/sexist/biased person, they are making up for their own shortcomings or covering up something deviant in their lives by claiming that something else is deviant.
