Depends on what kind of glue. If it's a gummed rubbery label glue, then the best solvent is a citrus spray remover called "De-Solvit" which I've found at major department chains like Walmart. Rubbing alcohol also works, but a lot slower and with more elbow grease.
A white glue needs hot soapy water and soaking. Yellow builder's glue and Gorilla glue need to be scraped.

yes a razorblade is the best way to clean glass. Hold it at an angle (20 degrees or so), where it's almost laying flat on the glass. This will also take off those pesky orange stickers the cops put on your car when you leave it on the street too long.

Wait for the glue to dry then use a razor blade to shave it off. Some windex or other vinegar solution can sometimes help as well.

You don't say what kind of glue, but generally you can scrape off the thick stuff and use an adhesive remover to get the film.

Any kind of oil will get it off. Just saturate a cotton ball and hold or tape to the gluey area, then use a razor blade or sharp, flat object (spatula) to lift or scrape it off carefully.

If it's wet, immediately wipe it out with a towel. If it's dry, let it dry completely and scratch it off.

Use a razor blade. that is the best way to do it.. BE careful.... not to cut yourself of course.. but angle of the blade abouit 45 degrees as you do not want to scratch the glass
