You have to perform the same duties as a cop while making $7.00 per hour. Since you will also have to sell snaks, you will need to be able to tell every customer with a straight face that the large popcorn that costs $4.50 is only 50¢ more than a regular popcorn that costs $4.00

RE:
Job description for a movie theatre usher?
I'm thinking of getting a job as a movie theatre usher for a little while. I'm curious what all they must do. Any ideas?

The ushers, tear tickets (making sure no one sneaks in) and answer questions from people in the lobby and at the entrance(if they are assigned to stand in front) otherwise, they will handle problems in hallways outside the auditoriums while going to sweep and possibly mop auditoriums after each showing sweeping the hallways, checking restrooms and trashcans, and monitoring guests along the way. At the concession stands, you must keep your workspace clean constantly cleaning counters and floors, you fill orders, this includes filling drinks, grabbing hot dogs and nachos(which sometimes you will have to make/put together when not at the register) and of course popcorn(making it, keeping it warm, and distributing it) also, you must know all the parts of the machines and be familar with where everything is kept and how it works. Lastly, Box office is where you sell tickets and you must know the most about the movies such as synopsis and ratings. You must be sure to sell tickets only to people allowed into that particular show (honor the rating system when it comes to R rated movies) and answer the phone and dealing with money and registers again. I like working in a movie theater, it sounds like alot, but what doesnt if you go into enough detail.

You'll stand in one place for hours, tearing tickets. Or, you might get to go into the theater and check everyone's ticket to make sure they haven't snuck in. If you're lucky, you'll get to clean the concession stand, too.
Oh, and don't forget the bathrooms! You get to clean them, too.
