You guy`s & gal`s are missing the point ! the question was about a dj mixing 2 record`s into each other ! not to artist`s singing together ! the answer to the question is a definate No ! not sure who the first was to do it commercially but a freind of mine was doing mixes way back in 78 well before boy george started it . he only became a dj AFTER his music career ended !

Francis Grasso invented beat matching in the late 60s and 70s in the club scene in NYC. so the answer is no. boy george certainly did not invent mixing.

Dunno, i don't think so. But i used to do backing vocals for him and Culture Club in the studio and performed on stage with him. You can type my name into Google and it will come up with Culture Club. I know it's nothing to do with the question but i thought i'd say it. Claim to fame and all that ;-)
