A baseball and softball has one continuous seam that is created by two threads that is sewn with crossing threads; I believe 108 stitches.

A seam is the connection between two pieces of something, whether a baseball or sections of concrete highway. As a baseball has only two pieces of cowhide sewn together, it can have only one seam.
