Apparently rabbits are capable of purring (like cats) so they must have some kind of voice box/vocal arrangement!

they do have a form of voice box but it is not the same as ours, you will find that most rabbit are silent, all of mine have been! however they can make several purring noises when they are happy, grind their teeth when they are angry and can actually scream if they are in extreme danger! there is nothing wrong with a rabbit who does not make noises, in the wind they use body language to communicate and tend not to make noises - like horses really. hope this answers you question xx

They don't have voice box like a cat or a dog but they can make noises, usually not all involving air. Rabbits will thump with her foot, they will make teath chattering noises, they can grunt, and if in pain they can scream. My rabbit likes to thump me when it is bed time, she will sometimes grunt if she doesn't like what I'm doing. When she is being petted and talked to she makes the cutiest little teath chattering noises. I hope I never hear her scream! I think you just have to listen to the noises, and your bunny can tell you its mood.

All animals have a voice box... It's how they comunicate with each other... Your rabbit may just be a quiet one... Tickle it's belly and see if it makes a noise...

They can scream. I've heard one doing it. Nothing serious. I was just trying to capture my rabbit one day to put him back in his hutch and I caught hold of one of his legs, he screamed! Also my brother's cat got hold of a wild baby rabbit and he heard it screaming and ran outside to save it.
