It is hoped that The Human Project is composed of the worlds best scientists, who will care for Kee and the baby and discover what made her different and replicate this so that others can have children.

No one knows why everyone became infertile; there are lots of theories, but no definite answer. There is talk by the midwife that male fertitity began to drop in the 90's, but this is probably a seperate issue from the miscarriages that started to occour.
Because no one knows the cause of the infertility, they cannot know the reason for Kee's fertility; that is one of the reasons that she must get to The Human Project.

I loved the film.

The film is adapted (loosely) from a book by PD James, but that doesn't really have a lot of specific answers either.

You don't need to know. It was something good. They talked at one stage that they had different theories about why women couldn't have babies. They said it was a miracle Kee got pregnant so I suppose they don't know. I found the realistic violence a bit much but my friend thought it was the best film he has seen in ages. Maybe it's a boy thing!

Since it doesn't come out until Christmas we won't know where the writers went with the story...

From what it looks like to me, The Human Project is trying to protect Kee from the government or some radical group that wants to exploit her fertility for their own use.

Just from the trailer, it looked like The Human Project had a safe haven for all pregnant women they found.

I had to come back and ask...where is everyone seeing this movie? It doesn't get released until Christmas...
