T. Boone Pickens, probably as knowledgeable on the subject as anyone, figures that crude oil may go to $70 a barrel this winter and may drop to $60 or so sometime next year, so SURE $3 gasoline is likely. And IF there is a Democrat administration in 847 days or whatever, it won't make a damn bit of difference.
You DO know that "petrol" costs about twice that much in the UK and Europe right now, don't you?

It's amazing how many idiots think Bush can control the price of gas. Hey, Einstein, tell me this: If he really could control it, why isn't it at $1.00 right now? After all, the election is only about 45 days away!
Your question and the answers above prove that the percentage of freaks in this forum is much higher than that in the general population.

The price of gas, like all commodities is set by supply & demand, the market and by market speculators. The speculators cause many problems while making themselves rich.
Also it always drops off after the summer vacation season. It will probably get even cheaper as we head into the fall, but will probably go up with more demand in the winter.
Anyone who thinks the price of gas is a political thing is falling prey to the media hype and obviously doesn't understand the first thing about economics and a free market society.
Don't feel bad. Your ignorance is not really your fault. I bet you went to a government indoctrination school like the rest of us. They don't teach economics anymore because they want ignorant people out there asking stupid questions like this one.

My opinion you will see gas prices continue to fall through the end of the presidential term. There is another Bush that needs to get into office. And the best way to keep the American people happy is to lower our gas prices.

I think it will be over $3, and maybe $5 bucks by the time he's out of office. People are getting used to paying it, so why bother to lower it rigth?

On election day the nationwide average will be $1.99 per gallon because the incumbants want to keep their jobs. The real question is how close to election day will we "find" Bin Laden?

I dont know, I think that the gas will probably stay relatively low until next summer. then the outrage begins again. when gas goes up this time though, its REALLY going to piss people off. its like teasing people and they are going to blow next time.
