It always depends on the type of coop you are looking at. I know they center I worked at the biggest advantage was that it gave the parents and the teachers a much better oppertunity to work with eachother and to foster the develiopment of the possitive relationships you need in order to aise your child to view healthy relationships. In other words it's fun to get to know all the parents and the teachers outside of the hi I'm so and so's mom what she do today. The only disadvantage I can even imagine is that you do have to find the time and energy to do a co-op. For a person with good time managment skills it's an easy chore.

A parent cooperative meaning that the kids are at one parents house one day, then the next day at the other parents? An advantage would be it allows the kids to have interaction with other children and learn valuable lessons like sharing, and stuff. A disadvantage of that would be what if the parent gets sick? You need a back up plan just in case. I really hope that's what you're talking about.. If not, I'm sorry.
