Depending on the charge. If the boyfriend is not allowed to be around children or live with children then yes, it is very possible that child welfare will remove them.
Think of it this way; Child welfare PROTECTS the welfare of children. IF you have to even ask if this is a risk you still want him in your home?
If a man is more important to you then your children's welfare then you should give your children to someone who can give them a proper home.
If anything else, if you are going to let this man live in your home with your children, he better have gone through alot of psych evals and has been given the okay from a doctor that he is safe around children. If he has a dirty past with children and hasn't done anything to improve his condition then he will most likely be a thret in that situation.

I think the more important question is, "Why do you value your boyfriend over your child?" Some women will allow an abuser into the home to be around their children just because they want a man around. That sounds like the case here.
Give your kid a safe home and don't let the convicted abuser in.

Why do you want your child around him? Are you waiting until he abuses you also? Yes, they can take him out if he abuses you or the child.

Only if you allow your boyfriend to move in with you. Personally I wouldn't put my child at risk.
Unless your boyfriend has attended anger management
classes and has turn himself around I wouldn't even consider it. But to answer your question...yes.
If you decide to put your child at risk then they can and
will remove your child. Don't do it.

WHAT THE HECK KIND OF MOM BRINGS AN ABUSIVE MALE AROUND HER CHILDREN?

I wouldnt want my child around him if he had a violent past. You shouldnt either.
