The tests that we do on new borns is a brain stem evoked potential test where we measure brain stem responses to auditory stimuli. Failure of the test doesn't mean that there is a significant hearing loss, but it does indicate that there should be a follow up. False positives are possible and as the child grows and develops he will be retested to make sure there isn't any problem with the hearing. It could be nothing - or - it could be something.

If one ear is normal there is no indication that he won't develop normal speech and language patterns.

As you say, he may only have fluid in his middle ear that is not allowing the auditory stimulus to reach the brain stem, if that is the case as he can be treated for this and problem solved.

Keep going to your audiologist until a complete and clear picture of his hearing ability has been assessed. And try not to worry.

I hope this helps.

God knew that he might pass the attempt, yet Abraham did not, until the actual adventure.. And it wasn't actual a attempt from God, it became right into a fulfillment of His plan, even Abraham's obedience.. All mankind will see and understand the fulfillment of Gods plan, while the journey occurs. yet no guy will understand His plan devoid of first the journey. guy ought to journey the understanding of Gods effect, for the end result's Gods plan.

BOTH my daughter's failed their first hearing tests and my second daughter had trouble a few months later because she was preoccupied while they tested her. When she was 4 months old she had a third test while she was asleep and she passed with flying colors It's best to test when they are sleeping because you get the most accurate results. Whatever the case may be, I hope he is alright and his hearing is fine!

THE BEST THING THAT YOU CAN DO IS ASK HIS PEDIATRICIAN. THEY CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO. I BET HE IS SO CUTE, I MISS LITTLE ONES, MINE ARE ALL GROWN UP. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, YOUR BABY CAN PICK UP SIGNALS ON YOU WHEN, YOUR NERVOUS OR SCARED.
