Hi, I have recently heard that women that have had appendicitis can have trouble conceiving bc the right ovary could be damaged. Has anyone else heard that before? Mine ruptured many years ago and I had to have surgery twice.

I have damage in my right ovary from a large ovarian cyst that ruptured and neither my dr nor midwife said that it would pose a problem in concieving children. Even if your right ovary was damaged, it probably wouldn't be a problem because your left ovary should be in good working order.

It usually doesn't cause any problems. Even if your ovary was damaged you have another but probably both are fine.

I had gangrene appendix, had emergency surgery to remove it, during which it fell apart. I am pregnant with my third child, and had no problems conceiving.
