Yes, but think of it on a smaller scale. If you can make a difference in a person's life by your smile, patience, volunteering, they may share those vibes with the next person. Sort of like Pay It Forward. Being one less pissed off, arrogant person in a day could save a life on the road, etc.

Most of the racism and war is caused by idiots, maybe if we could stop them from breeding the world would improve, but that's not too practical. I think it's a lost cause

Well I suppose if some of us were a bit braver and stood up to be counted and continued doing it we might stand a chance of helping towards changing the world, according to a news article today it is going to take a long time for that to happen with what is going on today as regards to terrorism, maybe there is a message in that news article telling us not to bother trying, but should we ignore it and do something as it can only get worse if no one is going to help towards making it better.

Do you wear clothes?
Do you use electricity? Maybe a car? Maybe the internet?
99% of EVERYTHING you have and everything you take for granted is a direct or indirect *byproduct* of people "trying to change the world". Seriously, "changing the world" is what our species DOES.
We don't adapt to reality by and large....well, not by our own design. ;)
Instead, we adapt reality *to us*. :)
If your pessimists and your bible-thumpers here had been in charge originally, you know what? We'd still be living in the Medieval Ages....maybe we'd be allowed to farm and hunt for food, maybe tame an animal or two.....
But we sure as all hell wouldn't be allowed to go industrial and have the car, the electricity, the internet, the computer, the telephone, and on and on and ON and on.
Trust me on this one....even the racists and the warriors and the idiots are trying to change the world....for the worst, yeah, for their own selfish benefit, that too, but they *are* trying to change the world in spite of themselves. It's just human nature.
So there is your point. Do you want life to take a wrong turn at Jerry Springer and go to *rot and ruin* from there?
No? Then you too have to try to change the world in the way *you* see fit. :) Not want to, have to.
If you aren't a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem, maybe not right away, but at some point....
Evil only happens when "good" people stand by and do nothing.
Any good thing worth having is worth fighting for....
Ok, am I butchering enough inspirational quotes here for you? *lol* :))
Point is...unless you want it all to go to rot and ruin courtesy of the mal-adjusted efforts of those *others* you mention, you do need to do something. Pick a piece of the puzzle you think you can solve, and go to work on it....
And thanks for your time! ;)

It's a fact that 95% of all people will follow social trends without much regard for whether the trends themselves lead the society toward a better life for all, or tyranny.
The trick is to change society for the better through preaching the Word of God and teaching equity, integrity and the value of life.
Unfortunately, the federal government has reduced education into a form of brainwashing and the result is ignorance on a widespread level.

The problem with trying to change the world is , of the people who take notice of you, some are already on your wavelength and the rest either tend to think you are naive or are benefitting from the very conditions that you want to change. I think of John Lennon's efforts to obtain peace.
It would be much easier to point out that war is wrong if governments stopped waging it.

It is difficult to change the world, unless you are powerful. But you can change just your corner of the world just a little bit to make life more pleasant. You may meet some interesting people along the way also. This is why people join cults to make their own rules in their own corner of the world. I am thinking of joining one. See my previous questions.

Idiots - haha, I wish we could change that but there will always be idiots, hence the other problems will continue also. It's a shame ain't it?! This world would be a nice place to live otherwise!

Maybe there isn't a point to do it.... Money and power are the reasons why people don't listen.... Is so sad to see how we are creating all these issues and in the end EVERYBODY is losing!!
We see how the glaziers are melting... yet, some people care about getting money from oil... You see wars, yet people don't really care about others (people dying)....
