Don't bother with motel 6, it's like 85 bucks a night. Spend a little more, about 125 to 130 a night and stay in the Plaza (downtown) or Gold Coast which is a great hotel just off the strip and right next to the Rio and the Palms, and about 1/8 mile from the center of the strip. That's for the weekend of Oct. 6.

The weekend of Oct. 13 is even better, you can stay at the Orleans, an excellent place, for only 65 bucks a night. It's off strip but pretty close to the strip and also close to the Rio, Palms, and Gold Coast (which is its sister hotel). Also cheap on the weekend of the 13th is Golden Gate, Fremont, and Gold Coast. The Golden Gate and Fremont, like the Plaza which I mentioned above, are all downtown and that is the real, OLD Vegas, and it's very very cool.

Check expedia.com and do not go for anything that is a chain hotel (like Motel 6 or Super 8) and do not go for anything that has no casino, you will regret it if you do. Most of those places are far from the action and the money you think you're saving will go to more cab fare and to time wasted traveling to the hot spots (even if you have a car).

Also, Orleans and Gold Coast (and probably the other casino hotels but I don't know for sure) will give you a "funbook" full of coupons for discounts and freebies like drinks and meals, so you'll save money that way too. With a Motel 6 you wouldn't get that.

Get the full Vegas experience, stay in a place that's a real Vegas Casino/Hotel - you will NOT regret it, I promise! Have fun!!!

Unless you are way off the strip in a not so desirable place, good luck. Then on top of it you will have cab fare which is very expensive, as the traffic on the strip is insane!!! You can get a reservation at one of the places below.

I would personally decide where you want to stay, and check out the "hot deals" on the paticular casino's web site. Last time we stayed at the Flamingo for a week and $1500 paid our air fare and hotel stay. However, the Barbary Coast is right next door and the Casino Royale is right down the street. You would be in the middle of the strip and able to walk everywhere. They are a bit cheaper than the main places such as Mirage, Treasure Island, Rio, etc. $1500 will not get you very far. The buffet's you see on TV are few and far between and are at 4 am and after. You may also want to try and agent such as Central Travel. Good Luck!

Most of the hotels in Vegas are pretty cheap. I stayed at the Rio (which is way better than Motel 6) for about $60 a night.

Callthe motels reservation line and they will tell you how much the room is. Make a reservation though, you might not have a room otherwise. As long as you arrive before 6 you might not need a credit card tohold the room.

On a weekend, The stinkiest, crappiest motel in vegas will run you 90 a night.

Go here www.cheapovegas.com for more info. 1500 bucks will do ya fine.

Go to Motel6.com
From what I've seen, it looks like you'll be forking out $80 (less taxes) per night.
Is the $1500 your entire budget? Hotel, food, taxi fare, gambling etc...?
If it is, you're not going to be doing much except Casino hopping.

I recomend that you go to Vegas.com and check out their vacation packages (Flight & Hotel). They have the best rates I've seen so far. I'm going there Nov 3-7 to see James Darren and maybe catch Penn & Teller.
