Women were considered inferior to men in Greek mythology because they were considered inferior to men in Greek society. In ancient Greece, men were the breadwinners, politicians, writers, philosophers, atheletes and warriors while women generally were relegated to domestic roles.

Some myths that reflect this second-class citizen status for women are the story of Atalanta (who at birth was left to die on mountainside b/c she wasn't a boy), the story of Hera (who had to put up with all of Zeus' philandering), the story of Iphegenia (who was sacrificed to the gods by her own father "for a charm against the Thracian winds" to allow the Greek fleet to sail to Troy), the story of Cassandra (Trojan princess with the gift of foresight who refused the affections of Apollo, who then cursed her so no one would ever heed her predictions) and the story of Persephone (kidnapped by Hades and forced to spend half the year in the underworld).

Something interesting to consider, however, is that even though women were considered inferior to men in Greek society, there is no shortage of smart, strong, powerful women in their mythology. For examples, see the stories of Athena, Artemis, Clytemnestra, Penelope, the Fates, the Furies and the Muses.

Women have always been seen as inferior. It didn't just start with the greeks. It goes back as far as Hammurabi and his code of Laws. That's the earliest account that I'm aware of. But throughout all societies, including our own today, women have yet to become true equals.

Same question to as why men in this day and age in this society have more power than women. Men have been the naturally aggressive human being to the (unfortunately, weaker) human women since the beginning of time. But, women do tend to be the only power that can reproduce and continue our species. Without women, we die out.

Are you trying to get someone to do your homework for you? lol Depends on how you see it. I see it as they were equal. They had a Goddess for almost everything, even war. So i dont think they were considered inferiour at all.
