I have a couple of questions first... Did you start a new job? Did anything else in your life change? Do you work with a lot of paper, or chemicals? I also live in Florida, there can be many reasons. I would start with why, before trying products. Can you think of anything you are doing differently? Are your eating habits changing? I may be able to help with more detail....

It's probably just dry skin. Go to the store and pick up a bottle of Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion with Aloe & Vitamine E and use as directed. I work in a printing shop and am constantly cleaning my hands with a harsh scrubbing soap or solvent, so I use it regularly in order to keep my hands from drying out.

You probably have a vitamin definciency. There's a great book called "Prescription for Nutritional Healing." It says that skin conditions like you describe are often helped by a vitamin E supplement. If you are really worried about it, though, maybe you should consult a dermatologist, just to rule out anything that can be treated very simply. Hope that helps.

When my younger sister was about 18 her hands started getting really dry too. I had her put this stuff by Mad Gabs on her hands at night and slip socks over her hands to lock in the moisture. Udder Balm (in the green tin) would work too. Make sure you drink lots of water too.

It might be something you touched. Try Neosporin (over the counter topical antibiotic). If you put it on at night and sleep with gloves on you should see a noticeable improvement. They sell gloves for this purpose at most drug stores near the cosmetics. If the Neosporin doesn't work go see a dermatologist.

You're drying out. Before you start putting chemicals on your skin and in your body, first try to get re-hydrated with water and healthy oils.
Drink lots of fluid, preferably water.
Also, include some healthy fats and oils in your diet, especially unsaturated fats from sources like extra virgin olive oil, avocados, and wild (not farmed) Alaska salmon. Also, eat dry roasted unsalted nuts, seeds and soybeans.

check out webmd and see if your skin matches echzema patterns. Otherwise, I would start by figuring out if anything recently changed in your lifestyle.

your best bet would be to see a dermatologist. don't use lotions if you need to put anything on your hands try olive oil is natural and won't harm your skin.
