Since you are a new agent, you'll want to be associated with a company which will provide you with top notch training on how to actually be a real estate agent.

Drive around the neighborhood you live in or would like to work in and see which companies have the most for sale or sold signs up. Pick 3 or more and interview them. Find out what kind of training they offer, the length of training, ongoing training etc. Getting the right training is the best thing you can do right now.

I would pick a company with great training and at least a decent amount of listings in the neighborhood you are interested in.

I'd check out a few books also. A few I'd recommend are:

In many markets, up to 80% of new agents leave the industry each year. If you are really serious about being an agent remember, when things get tough, don't give up. If you keep going, there will be better days ahead.

Good luck.

I have had great experience with Century 21 in North Carolina as a home buyer. The seller's agent was RE/Max. I had a horrible experience with them. RE/Max, from my experience, has very little integrity. I'd avoid them.

But that's my opinion only.
