Because the color change and dying happened suddenly, it is probably not normal autumn leaf loss. It sounds like you may have verticillium wilt. This is a very serious soil-borne fungus that can kill trees. There is no fungicide or other treatment that will eradicate this fungus, but here are some tips you can try:
Cut off dead and dying branches.
Keep the tree well-watered.
Feed the tree with a tree fertilizer that contains ammonium sulfate, is low in nitrogren and high in potassium.

i'm so sorry about you're toddler! that is hard dropping your kitty. She would have died from heart suitable themes. An enlarged heart or fluid on the chest may reason respiration complications, even though it frequently isn't a unexpected onset like that. She would have had a tumor that ruptured and bled out (i have considered it ensue in canines). also experience sorry for the vets. even as a cat stops respiration, you actually have 30 seconds till they go mind useless. an incredible style of the time, you merely can not save them quick sufficient. back, i'm so sorry! *hugs*

It is possible that it has gone into shock from the extreme heat and lack of water. It should recover by the Spring. It often happens here in the south of France but the trees usually recover.

Through lack of water your tree is just shutting down a wee bit earlier than normal but it almost certainly hasn't died a good way of telling if a plant is dead or not is to slightly bend a branch or twig dead is when it is dry and snaps
