i need to do it for a 6th grade project any suggestions???? (not life size but maybe the size of a 1 or 2 yr old)

First you need to make a basic form. Or get a manniquin, if that's possible. Or you can wrap and scotch tape towels to give the shape of a torso, arms, legs and a gallon milk jug for a head. Once you have something that is humanoid in shape, simply start wrapping it with strips of cloth. Around, and around, and around, and around. If you know a cheery Egyptial work song, you can sing it while you're making the mummy.
Good luck. Sounds like an interesting project.
In Egypt, when they were making real mummies, they would tuck little charms into the layers of wrapping, to bring good luck to the deceased when it passed into the underworld.

You must still have a doll, of some sort in your house. I know I had a large collection of american girl dolls, that would work. Next you need some wrapping first aid bandages or toilet paper. Wrap them around the doll. Leave the hair out, and over the paper draw a little mouth and face with a black sharpee... and your good...
5 minute project tops.

get a real baby, kill it, drain the blood, take off the internal organs also the brains eyes..etc.. then put it in a seperate container. now, when the real dead baby is all drained up from its own blood and water..put loads and loads of rock salt to help dehydrate the body more and more! when you think you are ready to wrap the body, put salt again and some spices like cardamom,cinnamon and stuffs like that. wrap it in medical bandages thingy. You will have a REAL mummy... you will be graded 100% perfection.
...im just kidding.. just get a doll..wraping it with pva glue first will help you better.. :D

I remember this project! Go down to the dollar store and get a baby doll, some gauze, and some glue. Wrap the baby doll, gluing as you go. Have fun!

Get a one to two year old sweat pants and top. Attach the two and stuff with something. Get some gauze and go to rapping it. Gloves for hands and socks for feet.

Have you considered " papier mache". It is easy , cheap, and will give you the desired results . There are sites on the net that give step by step instructions . Let me know how it went

get an old doll you want to get rid off,, then use old pieces of cloth and glue them around the doll,, several layers,, it was sort of the same way it was done,, good luck,, lol
