I use them when I get out of the shower to remove water and excess wax from my ears, but you aren't supposed to do that. They also work well for cleaning my piercings and for makeup (if there is nothing else to use) and you can use them for applying ointments to wounds
You could always pull the cotton off the ends and try to lobotomize yourself with the stick

It is well known in the medical community that one should put nothing smaller than his elbow into his ear. It is very dangerous. Q tips can be used to apply antibiotic ointment into the nasal passage (as a preventative treatment for MRSA), or to apply ointment to wounds, etc. Not made to clean ears.

Well, other than my ears, of course, I keep a supply of them in my toolbox for cleaning small passages and float valve seats out in chain saw carbs...

To clean out your ears...everthough it clearly says NOT to stick them in your ears on the box. Thats what i use em for

cleaning out my ears and yes I do put them into my ear canal, how else do you get that wax out? I know enough not to poke my ear drum.
