IT'S CALLED THE MADDEN CURSE

It is not a curse but you really couldn't call it a coincident either. I say this because the players that are on the cover are some of the best. They didn't get that good by sitting back and letting someone else have the glory. They are aggressive and play the game. You put those two things together with any player and they are going to get hurt at sometime or another.

The people on the cover may feel the need to step-up their game to an even higher level because they are on the cover of a well known and played game. Each one may feel like they have something to prove or uphold. Thus it is not a curse but not actually a coincidence either. They get hurt because they stepped up their game, the other players now see them as more of a threat and football can be a dangerous game.

Coincidence, pure and simple.

I seriously doubt that John Madden is placing curses on those who appear on cover of the John Madden game.

Similar to the Sports Illustrated curse. Put a sports person on the cover and suddenly they don't do so hot for a bit. Ask Justin Verlander!

it is rare that anyone can go through an entire season without getting hurt so I would say just coincidence.

well they usually put well-known players on there and they are usually those who get tackled a lot. time to put a backup offensive guard on there to test the curse theory.
