Jennifer is a lovely name and therefore very popular. I'd much rather have a Jennifer than one of those foolish names that sound like someone put a bunch of syllables in a bag and drew them out at random.
And what's with the fad of putting "isha" at the end of any word and calling it a name?
Markisha?
Johnisha?
Pundisha?
Farnisha?
At least with Jennifer, it's easy to get personalized items! LOL

I"m the mother of a Jennifer, too. She's 7. There were no other Jennifer's around that I knew when she was born, and we haven't run into any others in her age range at her school, either.
I think it's a beautiful name, a derivative of Guinevere and Gwendolyn, etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinions about names of course. I hate uneducated names that sound like someone had a name in mind that they just were too stupid to spell and names that sound like you are a hooker, such as "Destiny".

Thing 1 and Thing 2 were already taken by Dr. Suess.
Lack of imagination. People don't want oddball names, so they go with something common and "safe". I know so many girls named Jennifer or some variation that it makes me want to slap their parents for such a lack of creativity.

Because it is now kinda old fashioned to be named Jennifer, and they dont have to cringe when they are older. Imagine being 60 with the name Apple! Better yet Mystie. Every week there is some stripper in love with her cousin on Jerry Springer...I am seriously thinking of changing my name..

LOL!
Not everyone does!
For example I named my daughter, Sarah Louise. It's extremely pressurising to know you have the task of giving your child a great name. You want something (usually) that isn't too obtuse (see celeb names such as Fifi Trixibelle etc.) or something too long and it has to flow nicely too.
Also, you can't have something that the child is going to regret. I used to know this family who had the surname Bottom (honest!) They called their beloved daughter (wait for it...) Rosie. So the poor kid had the name Rosie Bottom for the rest of the child's life.
Plus you have a time frame to do it with as well - pregnancy generally only lasts 9 months.

I like the name myself.
What I want to know is why people create names that sound like a cross between a Japense car and a chemical in Nyquill!
