That's simply saying don't expect too much and don't be too demanding or controlling. The minute you start to look controlling, it scares guys away. But there are limits, when u respect each other and let each other know where u'll be, that's not really being controlling, it's part of trust and honesty in a relationship.

it is, the tighter you hold...... and pull or hold are the key words in this old saying..... we are born free and should go out of this world the same way.... and by free i mean, who we are..... ppl try so hard to change each other and mold them to *fit* their own lives and personalities, instead of embracing who they are.... I am just as quilty as the next person..... we all think we are right and the other is wrong, emotions, thinking, actions, etc...... but as we grow, that is one leason we really need to focus on learning...... the word individual means just that.... we are each ONE !!! so dont pull or tug or hold tight, use a light feather touch of love, and string of gossamer lightness, and you will be surprised......... God bless

Yes that is so true and sometime you can mess up a good thing if you're not careful, just like if your parents were against your relationship and you wanted to be with that person so bad you would clug to that more and forget about what your parents think, so, if you love him you better be careful

Not really, but I think trying to force someone ("how can I make him like me?") isn't the way to go. Clingy, needy people aren't very attractive, and the more grabby one becomes, the less attractive they are.

It is 100 percent true. If you are running behind them or If you keep up with your heart out there for them to crush, they'll make sure he or she does it good.

I've heard that and there is also another saying: If you love them, let them go. If they love you they will come back.

Basically, don't smother anyone. Let them be and the relationship will flow.
