We have a video monitor and can watch her toss and turn (she is a very active sllepr) the problem is now every time she turns she wakes up and cries, my wife goes in and gives her the ninny and she goes back to sleep for an hour until she does it again. My ??? is do they make a larger positioner? or does anyone have any other suggestions? its like we are back to week one where we get no sleep at all, PLEASE HELP

At six months old, it's the time for her to learn to soothe herself. Don't go to her as soon as she cries. Give her 5 min or so. If she is still crying, go to her, give her the ninny(we called it a paci) and put her back down. Next time try not giving it to her or putting it where she can reach it. It sounds cruel, but you just have to let her learn. Your mother toughtyou this or you would never get to sleep. Let her fuss, I bet in a week she will surprise you! Good Luck!

i wouldn't recommend putting pillows or anything in the crib. they can cause suffocation. when the baby can roll over on her own, the risk of SIDS reduces dramatically. i wouldn't worry about her position so much. as far as the crying goes...i think now might be a good time to let her cry a little. my pediatrician actually told me to do this. it will be better for everyone in the long run. it might take a while to adjust for everyone but it's worth it. the baby will learn how to put herself back to sleep. leave the pacifier with her if it soothes her. and don't let her cry too long. make sure she doesn't actually need anything as well. i know, it's hard and it might seem cruel but it's not.

I don't know if they make bigger positioners but could you use a bobby pillow or a rolled blanket to position your child?

you keep asking this... are you not getting the answers you want?

There actually a great number of books on solving sleep problems in infants and toddlers. You can find them on amazon, or in any book store. Maybe that would help you more than we can.

You could try swaddling her tightly in a recieving blanket or such... But as all others said, let her cry a little. There is nothing wrong with it, besides she will grow her lungs out...
