I have to tell you that you are WRONG. They offer free access to their web sites. One of them that I checked on, offers free audio also. What you pay for is the content beyond the website. newsletters, magazines, etc. Which is only fair, because printing, shipping is not free, and there is additional staff to pay.
One reason Rush won't go to sattellite is because people would have to pay for it.
So, you are misinformed, don't do your homework, and are just looking for a way to prove the right wing is wrong. sorry to disappoint you.

Because liberal radio shows don't have any listeners to begin with.
Conservative radio hosts are popular because they are able to present cogent arguments for hours at a time, every day of the week.
Liberal radio hosts learned that hurling insults at oppenents every day - without back up of intellectual heft - grows stale.
It's the law of supply and demand - but of course a liberal doesn't understand that.
When people demand something, they are willing to pay for it.

Because the liberals are so full of lies that nobody would pay to read their garbage. They offer it for free just to get "somebody, anybody to please listen to me!!"
Also, conservatives target the type of people who can afford to pay for access to websites, ya know, the type of people who have JOBS.
Liberals target the welfare recieving idiots who don't have jobs.
