Emotional Intelligence is just Emotional Maturity. It means that you have a lot of emotional Experience. You have been through alot of emotional *stuff* and you know how to deal with many emotional situations.

There are no doubt some who would suggest some sort of answer if.... they are unaware that intelligence has to do with what ones brain has stored, or has the capacity to store, while the term "emotional" refers to the subtle energy of the MIND.
To use these two terms in the same phrase is an oxymoron.
So, the real meaning of the term "Emotional Intelligence" is that is is meaningless.

They suggested that the capacity to perceive and understand emotions define a new variable in personality. The Mayer-Salovey model defines emotional intelligence as the capacity to understand emotional information and to reason with emotions. More specifically, they divide emotional intelligence abilities into four areas -- in their four branch model:
1. The capacity to accurately perceive emotions.
2. The capacity to use emotions to facilitate thinking.
3. The capacity to understand emotional meanings.
4. The capacity to manage emotions.

I think of it from a workplace standpoint - being able to read human behavior and motives and act accordingly in an intelligent and useful manner. Mostly, it's about understanding other people, how they work, why they do what they do the way they do it, and how to work with them adjusting for their traits, using your understanding to improve flow in your work and relationships.

It's liberal propaganda to show that people do not have to be responsible for their actions.
