It all depends on what the dominant genes are.

It's a little complicated, so bear with me. I would need to know what color eyes both your parents have and the baby's fathers parents have. In other words, the grandparents have a direct link in the probability. If one of your parents and one of the father's parents have brown eyes, then the probability of the child having brown eyes would be 75%. If both the father's parents have blue eyes (and one of yours has blue), then the probability of the child having brown eyes would be 50%. Keep in mind, probability is just that. You could have all brown eyed children or all blue eyed children, but the more who have blue eyes in your and the father's family, the more the probability. I hope this helps.

The gene for brown eyes is dominant over the gene for blue eyes. What this means is, if the father has blue eyes, he got the gene for blue eyes from both parents. So he will definitely contribute a blue-eyed gene to the baby, as each of you will contribute 1 gene out of the 2 that you have.

You have brown eyes, so you got the gene for brown eyes from at least 1 parent. If your mom has blue eyes, she definitely gave you a blue-eye gene (because, like the father of your baby, she has 2 blue-eyed genes). If both your parents have brown eyes, you could have two brown eye genes or one brown and one blue.

Either way, you have either 1 or 2 brown eye genes, the baby's father has 2 blue eyed genes.

So the baby could have 1 blue and 1 brown gene, or 2 blue genes (2 blue obviously only possible if you have a blue eyed gene). If he/she gets a brown eyed gene, his/her eyes will be brown. If both genes are for blue eyes, the baby will have blue eyes.

So if I understand you correctly that your mom has blue eyes, you have 1 blue and 1 brown-eyed gene, and so the baby has a 50% chance of getting a blue-eyed gene from you and a 50% chance of getting a brown-eyed gene. Which means you have a 50% chance that the baby will have blue eyes and 50% chance of brown eyes.

Lets say you have the domite brown gene (B) and a ressesive gene, like green or blue (g) (b) he has blue eyes so that's too recesive blue eyed genes

Bb & bb= If you have 4 children 2 of their eyes will be blue
Bg & bb= If you have 4 children 1/2 will have brown and the other half with be either green or blue, whichever is more dominent

Your baby will get a blue gene from dad (recessive), and if your mother has blue eyes then you have at least one blue gene and one brown gene (since you have brown eyes and they are dominant). So, it sounds like you will have a 3 in 4 chance of having a blue-eyed baby.

The genes for your baby's eye color will have no idea what nationality your families are! If he has blue eyes, he carries two genes for blue eyes and will only be able to contribute a blue gene to the baby. Since you have lots of blue eyes in your family there's a likelihood that you also carry an unexpressed blue gene in addition to the brown one that has expressed itself in your eye color.

If you have two brown genes, you kids will have brown eyes. If you have one blue and one brown, your kids will have have a 50/50 shot at blue eyes because you will have a 50/50 chance of contributing a blue gene.

Brown is the dominant gene, but if you carry the recessive gene (blue or green), it could be blue (or green). If you do carry that gene, you have a 50/50 chance of blue, green or brown eyes. If not, 100% that it will have brown eyes.

brown is generally dominate. But baby might end up with blue eyes since theyre on both sides. Or green. who knows. its genetics. Babies arent born with their actual life time eye color anyway.

Probably brown - it is the dominant color. Possibly blue - and maybe even hazel! I'd put my money on brown.

you really can't predict just by guessing. I am betting on blue eyes though because you both carry the gene for the blue.
