I am on Prometrium for low progesterone. I am approximately 8.5 weeks pregnant, my question is will this medicine make me have a missed miscarriage? Will it hold an unviable pregnancy in my body? I revcently had a miscarriage and I don't want to get my hopes up again...

Hi, there is no evidence of risk in humans. At the same time everyone one is different so the best way to find out is to ask your doctor. I hope in some way this has helped you. I know that MayoClinic.com has much information on medicine and medical information. Let me know to if you need anything else ok.

Progesterone can hold an unviable pregnancy. I've had two missed miscarriages so I understand where you're coming from. I had 3 altogether and almost lost my daughter too, but now have 2 children. All I had was hope. Good luck!
