Most singles are two to maybe three minutes. One of the most notable exceptions is Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" which is over six minutes, has no bridge and just seems to break all of the rules for radio air play. It still managed to hit #2 with 12 weeks on the charts.

I don't think there is a set rule. It depends the type of radio station. You may hear Stairway to Heaven which is on the long side. If it's pop music, generally no more than 4 1/2 minutes.

Make sure every song you write is no less than 3 min 45 sec long.4 to 5 min is recommended.

I don't think there is a time limit. Most Beatles' songs clock in at about 2 minutes... Then you have songs like Suite:Judy Blue Eyes and American Pie that go on forever.

there is no rule of thumb. i think less than 3 minutes is normal time.
