Silly!
Q's such as this are altering, I grant you that. What the alter is the desire by so many, of a serious mind set, to actually participate in folly that just wasted points that don't truly matter in any case.
I do have a suggestion however,,,drug related. If you ever have the opportunity, inject a syringe full of thorazene, and be altered.

Not really.
You are thinking of how people want to feel when they answer questions, and to get points. Those are merely incentives for people to answer, sadly though they have good and bad effects. The real Yahoo! answerers are those who give their honest opinion to honest answers to try and better someone's life. There are really no addicting things other than the joy you recieve the right answer or when you answer that one question so perfectly that you amaze yourself. The only thing mind altering here is the people who find help and the people who learn something new by lookaing at other people's wisdom.

No, the mind altering-effects of drug use are temporary.
The mind-altering effects of Yahoo! answers are permanent.

no I do not think it fits in that category.
some people may spend more time reading and answering that they should but others like myself only pop in for brief bits of time.
It does not alter my mind. just relieves the boredom sometimes.
Do you think it is?
it may alter ones mood but so can reading poetry knitting Yoga and many other hobbies. YA is a HOBBY not a DRUG.

i don't think so...... there are people who are obsessed with answering, but i think the real goal is taking points, not because the mind is altered.

You make a good point with your question. The whole Q and A site has become really lame, with people babbling about nothing.
