Absolutely fine!
Spicy foods during pregnancy can result in a baby with a more adventurous palate, so you'll never have to deal with a child who eats nothing but peanut butter sandwiches. : )
If you have trouble with heartburn, look into buying tablets of Papaya Enzymes from a health food store. They can neutralize acids and help improve digestion, besides being perfectly safe for pregnancy.
Good Luck!!

The only thing the spices could do is give you indigestion/heartburn and you will start feeling the effects of that further on as your stomach gets pressed up further and further! As for eating spicy foods when you nurse you might want to consult your doctor about that because I do believe it will irritate the baby's stomach. Right now they are just pretty much absorbing your nutrients so I wouldn't worry. I like spicy food too...my doctor said it could just be more bothersome to my tummy than anything. Congrats and good luck!

I was once the identical with my son.. I ate salsa and a number of other spicy things and different then the heatr burn each thing was once pleasant.. I additionally discovered this to put your mind at eaze answer from Dr. Larry L. Veltman, clinical director of obstetrics and gynecology at providence St. Vincent scientific center: i'm not conscious of any scientific know-how that shows spicy meals are a drawback with pregnancy. You may also experience a bit more indigestion in pregnancy and spicy foods would exaggerate that, so accordingly you may also wish to eat mild meals. However, i do know of no damage to the fetus from spicy meals

Go right ahead and continue eating spicy foods. And when your child gets to the age to eat table food dont cut out the spice. If that is how you and your family cook, get them used to it young. Otherwise they'll be used to bland foods.
Congrats on the baby!

I take it by your name that you're asian. So, am I. My parents are old fashion, they wouldn't allow me to eat spicy.#1 the baby will have bad skin, and #2 the spice gives the baby a reaction, which might cause him/her to come out sooner. Better safe than sorry, try to eat less.

I ate some spicy foods - not REALLY spicy, but spicy Indian foods. I craved them and I had no bad effects. Just take some tums!

I ate pretty well whatever I wanted with mine. I'm only 5 1/2 weeks with this one but I think I could drink a bottle of Tobasco sauce, so to answer your question yes spicy is fine as long as you can tolerate it. Congrats!

It's more bothersome for your baby while nursing. It makes them fussy, gives them tummy aches and not worth the pain it causes them. When you're pregnant it's more bothersome for you because of the heartburn you'll get from all the spicy foods.

It could give you heartburn, but it might not. I know of women who had cravings for spicy foods. Talk to your ob/gyn. He/She will have the best advise. Don't sweat it though. Plus, I lived on Tums my last tri. They work great, and are good for you, and the baby, because they have calcium.
