Check engine lights come on for a variety of reasons, and the only way to know is to read the codes set with a code reader. Basically it means some variable the computer reads is outside the expected range.

But of course, well meaning friends will tell you "Just disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and it will reset", or as in your case, "It's your oxygen sensors!"

Go to somewhere like AutoZone and ask them to read your error codes, then you will know what the problem is.
