Throw it out. It's not worth it.

After you wash the wooden salad bowl with soap and water, let it air dry. Let it dry in the sun if possible and be sure to turn it in different directions(right side up, upside down, on it's side) so that every where will dry out well. The sun will help dry it quickly and will help kill any mold that might be left on it. If you take the time to do it right you will be happy with the final product when it is fully dried out!

The first thing to do is give it a really good scrubbing, then allow it to air dry, next wipe it down with some olive oil like the other person suggested, and stick it in the oven on a really low just warm setting for about an hour to allow the oil to seep in. Then take it out and scrub it again, air dry and it's as good as new. From the news I've read there is as much bacteria in salad greens as there are in your salad bowl

I would say bleach and soapy water. The bleach will kill any mold or mildew and make sure you rinse it well. Don't store it anymore in a damp place and you won't have that problem again. Hope this helps you out hun.....Flo

I think you should throw it away, because bacteria gets in the grains of the wood and may not be able to be cleaned on the surface. Buy a new one.

Wash it well in soapy water and dry it. To treat the wood rub it down well with olive oil. This is how I sometimes even treat my wooden cutting board.

Just use very hot hot water and antibacterial dish soap. Maybe let it soak for a while in the hot water. Then scrub it thoroughly and it should be good as new.

throw it out. the bleach will kill what you can visibly see, but the mold spores will always be in the wood waiting for the right circumstances to regrow.
