To solve the red itchy bumps, wash and dry the area, apply a triple antibiotic ointment like neosporin, do this for a couple days and it is sure to feel and look better. I have super sensative skin and it works for me every time. I would recommend that you trim the area next time, with scissors and a comb or with a hair clipper with a low guard, instead of shaving it completely. If you must shave it completely like I still do, apply the neosporin immediately after you shave and for a few days afterwards. It keeps the red itchy bumps away, but it will still grow in and may be irritating as it grows out. I would not use Nair, I have heard a lot of bad outcomes from people who have tried it on the pubic area.

Being red and itchy is normal. To relieve the itching, until it starts growing back in, you can use your deoderant on the outside area.
I would not try nair, you may have an allergic reaction to it, as many people do. 13 is a bit young to be shaving your pubic area. I understand the "mess", but just wash more during that time. If you are dead set on shaving in the future, you need to shave WITH the grain of the hair, NOT against it! It will prevent the break out. I do not use shaving cream, but rather a strong hair conditioner. Also, when you shave, IT IS A MYTH THAT IT GROWS BACK THICKER AND DARKER!!! That is NOT true.

Sweetpea, here's some tips I got from a guy who grooms bush professionally. If you're going to shave: Slather moisturizer on yourself, both to relax the hair and soften the skin. Always use a BRAND NEW razor. Loads of shaving cream. Do not skimp on either of those steps. After the rinse, use more moisturizer. The itchy can be cured by something with benzocaine in it. I quit shaving years ago in favor of vanilla smoothie nair. And, yes, I get rid of ALL of the hair. Does it burn? A liiiiiiitle but it's alright and it's certainly better than what you're going through. By the next day, my unit is right as rain and slick-smooth. Give it a go, this is a much better way to do it. Rub it in, sit on the toilet with a book, 8 min. later hop in the shower and rinse/rub it off.
PS.....Nair does not mess up your uterus. At least, not if you're not shoving the bottle up there. Have had two perfectly healthy kids and can easily have more. What a crock......

LOL! This is funny cause my cousin just went through it but she's 14. It's okay - it happens to everyone when they shave. It's called razor burn and it's very common. Next time you shave use aftershave down there - it will soothe the razored skin. Also after you shave (if you are tough enough) use a little (and I mean a little) rubbing alchohol on the top part (not the 'sex' part - never alchohol the 'sex' part!) that will cut down on infection and not cause the red bumps. Also use Noxema down there. Not only is it good for the skin, the menthol helps with the irritation and general pain of the skin. Do this post-shave and for the next day or so. Also, during the day, put some baby powder on it - it will keep it dry and not sticky and cut down on underwear friction. And above all remember DO NOT SCRATCH! It will leave ugly marks later on.

Use a really good shaving cream and a new razor every time. Also, try exfoliating before you shave-it will help prevent ingrown hairs, which is most of what is bothering you. Use water as hot as you can get it to shave, wash to make sure there's no dirt or shaving cream left, and do a final rinse with cold water. I find that using lotion on the area regularly also helps. Do NOT use Nair-your skin "down there" is super sensitive and you'll probably end up with a wicked irritated rash.

Here's an old home remedy. Get yourself a box of cornstarch and put some there. It will relieve the pain and burning until it grows out. Once you're ok again, do not use any type of hair remover. They have strong chemicals, hence the burning. Instead just do trim as close to the skin as you can without cutting yourself. I had the same problem with the period thing.
When you wear a bathing suit, use the bikini line remover but put some cornstarch or even Desitin later to avoid the prickly pain.
Give it a try-hope you feel better.

buy a wax kit that is used in the micro and wax hon.... it is much better and less chance of the burn... also it comes with the cream to keep from the hair growing in so stubbley.....
DONT USE NAIR down there you can cause infection and iritation....
Wax is better.. I have been waxing for years now and if done by the directions... you can stay clean shaven ...without the stubble and red rash...
if you cant get wax
shave with the grain.. not against the grain.. and find some cream for slowing hair growth...
it will help it to grow int thinnner...
Hope this helps,
RiahWillow
P.S.
you realy should try to talk to your mom about this..
I know my 13 year old daughter talks to me about these things and im glad she does.. I would be hurt if she didnt...
Your mom will be glad you talked to her about your concernes.

Trimming is a good idea. If you stick with shaving, use a razor and shaving cream especially made for the "bikini area" - they are less likely to cause the red bumps (you can find them in any pharmacy). And use some kind of lotion afterwards. You shouldn't use nair in sensitive areas.

No dont try nair, for now use lotion to help with the rash and next time soak yourself in a hot bath as hot as you can stand it and use plenty of shaving cream or gel, also because that hair is coarser than all other hair make sure to use a razor that is sharp not one that has been used for a few weeks on your legs first.

Eek, don't shave so close! Your skin there is so sensitive, shaving will irritate it. I don't think Nair is safe for pubic hair--read the label to find out. You could trim with scissors or use an electric razor to keep the hair short. In the meantime, going without underwear should keep your skin from getting more irritated. Or you can put on some ointment that contains zinc oxide. It's used in diaper rash ointment; Desitin is a good brand.
