Twelve years ago I switched dentists from my home town dentist in the US to a dentist in Cancun. The only time I use a dentist at home (Long Island) is if there's some sort of emergency. My Mexican dentist was educated at Tuffs University, and various institutions in the UK. The care, and attention my wife and I receive from our dentist in Mexico are far greater than anything we could hope to get at home. Although, the fees charged in Mexico are less expensive than the fees charged in the US, this does not reflect the quality of care. The reasons for switching had nothing to do with the amount of money one dentist charged over the other. As I said above, the care and attention we received far out weighed any monetary considerations. The reason for the difference in prices for the same procedure is due to the Mexican economy, cost of living, etc., and has nothing to do with quality of work. The same can be said about medical doctors.

Obviously, the quality of care will differ greatly when comparing big city medical practitioners with tiny villages that border the jungle somewhere in central Mexico, but I assumed from your question that you were wondering about Mexico's large cities, or tourist destinations.

My husband just had an implant done here. He had independent evaluations done in the US and Mexico. The quality of the exams, the quality of the cleanliness, the abilities of the dentists were quite comparable. The price was MUCH cheaper here in Mexico plus the work required several separate visits, which would have entailed multiple flights back to the US if he had not had it done here. He is VERY happy with the quality of work and the results.

There are some incredibly lousy dentists in Mexico, some middle-of-the-road and some extremely talented and wonderful ones. I know, because I live here and have had shitty, shoddy jobs done and have had teeth saved because of a dentist's dedication.
What I can tell you is that yes, it is cheaper ... but the less you pay, the more backwards the job. My advice is that unless you know the dentist you are going to, it is better to have a temporary job done [wherever possible], and wait until you go back home to your own dentist to have something more permanent.

>>>> the week after she went to the bathroom and her boobs fell off.

Why they fell off in the bathroom ... or both together I have no idea. It was almost funny.

The prices are not lower because they have lesser safety standards. They are lower because the wages are lower.

Yes there are good ones here ... plenty

Have a cousin who did. While the price is cheap and the work is usually good, their sterilization standard are not always the same as ours. So I have one word for you...
Antibiotics!

YOU SHOULD FORGET IT! Mexico may be cheaper but that's because they have much lower safety standards. So the safe repercussions you expect here are totally out the window in Mexico. One time this lady went to Mexico for lipo and the doc gave are a boob job too, but the week after she went to the bathroom and her boobs fell off. I STRONGLY SUGGEST DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
