My daughter is 15 months and began doing the same thing about a month ago. It's natural. She is exploring her body. Since she always has a diaper on, she has no way of exploring that area when she wants to. If she grabs herself too hard, she's old enough to know it hurts and most likely won't do it again. You can tell her no, but as long as she's clean when she's doing it, I wouldn't worry about it. Babies quickly learn what you do and don't want them to do. They usually will do what you don't want them to do because they are trying to be independent. So pushing too hard may cause her to do it more. Good luck!

It's normal. My daughter still does at 17 months, and I believe that if she were hurting herself, she wouldn't do it.
Your daughter is just becoming more aware of her body, and the same way she was fascinated with her fingers and toes when she first discovered them, she'll be fascinated with grabbing at herself when her nappy is off.
There's nothing to worry about, sweetie.
All you can really do is clean her hands off afterwards, but don't say anything negative to her, because she might get issues with it later in life...I think that's right anyway.
I hope that this helps.

yes, it's normal, and no she won't hurt herself (if she does she'll stop)
I tell my daughter not to touch herself during diaper changes only for sanitary reasons but she always manages to get a hand in so we just wash our hands afterward
I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially cause it'll only get worse once she's out of diapers and has easier access! Just tell her that those are her own personal private parts and only she, mommy/daddy and her doctor are ever allowed to touch her there and to tell you ASAP if anyone else does. When she gets a little older she'll understand better and you can tell her that if anyone does anything to make her uncomfortable or hurts her in anyway to tell you.
she's just exploring, just like a year ago when she figured out that those tiny hands and feet were attached to her body. she will figure out that it feels good to touch herself (if she hasn't already) and when that happens you let her know that is something to do in the privacy of her room, not to ever to it in public (or in front of anyone for that matter!)
masturbation is a perfectly normal thing for all people to do, it's just weird to see a baby do it cause to us adults it's entirely sexual but for a child that has no idea what sex is it's purely for the fact that it feels good

Relax. Shes just exploring. It is very common and will continue for a bit i'm sure. Dont draw extra attention to it. Dont scold her for it. If her hand is in your way just move it and close the diaper.
TOTALLY normal!

It is normal. Something that is always covered up is now exposed and they want to check it out and see what it is. Don't worry about it. She is just learning about her body. Just move her hand away, and that's about it. They all do it! Just be glad she isn't a boy....they are much worse!

It's normal for her to explore her body. You can tell her, "no, there's poop" but don't make her feel like she is doing something wrong. My pediatrician said to allow exploration in my daughter's room or in the bathtub, but always to discourage her from doing it in front of company or in public places.

Babies tend to do this as they are just finding out about their own bodies. If it hurts, she will stop doing it! Don't worry, it is competely normal.

Try giving her a toy to play with while changing her diaper. Distraction is often the best answer! :)
