I am 21 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden started spotting today! It started out brown, but is now pinkish... I was just at the doctor's last week, and everything looked good.. strong heartbeat, cervix looked ok... I called my doctor in a panic, but he told me not to worry just yet.. I did have intercourse on Sunday, which he says may be the cause.. anyone have experience with this? it seems like every week, I have another new scary symptom that ends up being nothing. I can't help but be freaked out....

I was spotting at ~8 wks and intermittenly throughout my pregnancy (usually after sex)

I was told that the cervix is especially sensitive during pregnancy and that just having sex can make you bleed a little

for now don't worry, just make sure you keep your doctor informed of all your symptoms

Sometimes the doctor forgets to tell us everything. After sex or a cervix exam you can spot. It is normal. I am pregnant with my third baby(14 weeks), I haven't had it with this baby(YET), but I did have it with both other babies. Being a new mom is scary enough with out all the other things to worry about. If the doctor isn't worried, and you aren't cramping, then try not to worry. It shouldn't last too long! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!!

I wouldnt' panic just yet, but odds are you will know if something is really wrong. Listen to your intuition because mothers just "know" these things. Rest a lot and relax for a day or so, if it doesn't stop or you get worried call your doctor back again, they're there to listen and answer your questions no matter how many times you call. Good luck and try not to stress out!

believe it or not many women have similar scares with pregnancy. If you experience any cramps starting at you belly and working around to the back, or the amount of spotting increases to a more red tone, make it to the emergency room and call your doctor. intercourse will cause your cervex to loosen a little and uterus to cramp slightly but should not cause complications. My advice?... take it easy for a day. keep your feet up and get pampered. you'll feel better.

Well if you're doc says don't worry just yet, then that's what you should do. During my pregnancy i noticed after intercourse i experienced very light spotting and realized that's what caused it. But i would not worry, stress will cause more damage than anything if you're not careful. I would just relax, I'm sure it's probably an effect from sex.

you need to keep ur attention on this cause some problems look ok to begin with but can turn out bad. my cousins baby died because the docs thought she s just being freaked out every symptom. and her baby died from choking and smothering from so much fluid that leaked out from the sac. they told her to go home until her sea setion date for 3 days later, when she came in and they began, they couldnt find the heartbeat, and the ultrasound showed no movement so they rushed and took the child out, to find her smothered by her bag, that all the fluid had been leaking from. shes still devastated and that was 2yrs ago.

spotting can be caused by many things, sex, dehydration, over exertion, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy,or perhaps placenta prevaria.Pregnancy is a blessing and if I were you I would stay on top of that doctor about the bleeding. In the meantime, get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and try other sexual positions, but NO SEX until the bleeding has stopped.
