I am more interested in finding out if my husband can stop me getting half of our house in Bulgaria.

What do you want to know? The MWPA was introduced in 1886. It's main thrust was to ensure that property owned by a woman prior to marriage did not automatically pass to her husband on marriage, as was previously the case. It is largely irrelevant now, though some practitioners still insert a clause in financial agreements in court dismissing any potential claim under the Act.
