Victor D Bennet was a racist. He was the artist that designed the penny. He made it from the cheapest metal available. IT was colored dark. To denote the release of the slaves. Also he faces the opposite way as he turned his back on the country.

Because he wanted the picture taken from his "good" side. everybody has a side they prefer. I like to show my left side in pictures. The face is not really symmetrical you know?
