I'm not saying she did, because Ree ain't about to hang up her crown yet. But just saying if she decided to, do you think she would give it to Fantasia?

I heard this on the radio today. Somebody asked the DJ "Who do you think Aretha Franklin Would Crown the new Queen of Soul?" The dude Said Fantasia. WHAT???
I Like a couple of Fantasia Songs and think she's a good singer. BUT... let's be real, Aretha's throne is not to be touched by anybody. I'm Glad most of ya'll feel me on this.

She may because, while I know that Fantasia has her fans, she in not yet in the class of Aretha Franklin. And while we are at it, why is it that anyone in the music business has "hand over their crown"? Can't we just appreciate musicians individually for their talent rather than always looking for their successors?
Just a thought...

I would say probably not because after winning American Idol, Fantasia pretty much disappeared. I don't think I've heard anything about her other than the lifetime movie they made about her... I haven't heard any of her songs on the radio or anything, so I would say that Aretha is the queen of soul... forever. :)

Noone will ever replace Aretha . She got that crown because she was the best at it at that time and noone was doing it at that time. So even if anyone now comes and over sing Aretha noone can replace what she achieved.
Its like saying is Usher the new godfather of soul . Dont get me wrong Usher is funky and good but he aint James.

Uhm. No. Fantasia sucks. And I have absolutely no idea how she even got on AI, let alone WON it.
Aretha is the Queen. Simple as that.
Thats like asking Elvis (the King) to give his crown to Taylor Hicks. (or whatever that idiot's name is.)

Considering no one knows who Fantasia Barrino is I don't think the "Queen" is particularly worried about her crown. Besides, who would name their kid after a Disney cartoon?
