I have some algebra homework that i have done and finished but i need one little problem, which is, write an exponential form of the # 40(it wasn't just that simple though, LOL)? Please help me!

40= 4*10 = 4*10^1

hence, 40=4e1

It may mean factor it out:
40 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 = 2^3 * 5.

40=2x2x2x5 which equals 5x2^3
