It's flattering sometimes depending on where you are, and who you are with, other times it's emabrassing.

I live in Italy and and find that the Italian men don't whistle, they blow kisses! No, I don't get offended, and usually I just smile at them.
The American men here (On base) just smile, because poor guys are too scared of being reported for sexual harassment if they whistle at anyone! I find there are a few gate-guards at the base that also try to strike up off the wall conversations with me when I come on, and I do believe they are trying to flirt! Again though, it's not offensive!

I'm surprised! I get so into my own head and into my own daily goals that when attention like that comes my way it's really surprising.....not expecting it. The funniest moment was when I was 8 mos. pregnant and driving me 300zx down the interstate. This BMW hottie was keeping pace with me, flirting like mad! I was on my way down to my BF's house (now my hubby) and when I got off the interstate this dude blew me a kiss, winked and waved bye-bye (man, he had a gorgeous smile too......). I kept thinking how funny it would be if we had gotten off the Interstate and out of the car I waddled.....

Anyhow, I react startled and embarrassed but I give em a big, fat smile. And I keep moving.

As men find that deep down desire to whistle at an attractive girl, I can't help but have a deep down desire to extend my middle finger. We are not a bunch of cattle :)

nobody whistles anymore, even flirting is getting rude and offensive- they shout things instead (like 'i love your t*ts') and i swear at them
