All the good suspenders have metal clips. Look on the Internet for Gio, and stockings HQ, they have tons of them.
I buy them here in the USA at stockingstore.com. All their garter belts have metal clips and adjusters.

Hold ups don't work - fall down in meeting more like it! Tights in the UK aren't long enough. Suspender belts work a treat!
Any good lingerie store will stock what you're after.
