you dont have to buy spybot. i have spybot search and destroy on my comp, i use it weekly, so i know its a free program. there is no pay version of spybot. i suggest you use spybot s&d along with adaware and avg antivirus. make sure you are offline when you run all anti-virus and spyware removal software. if you do it with an open connection, it will be impossible to remove, so make sure you are offline. also, consider using firefox browser. it is much less vulnerable to adware and viruses than internet explorer. internet explorer is the absolute worst browser to use.
here is the link to spybot which is always free:

here is a link to ad-aware:

here is a link to avg free:

here is a link to mozilla firefox browser:

all these downloads are free, although Ad-Aware and AVG do have pay versions, but in my experience the free ones work fine. good luck.

Spybot is freeware so you shouldn't have to pay to use it. You could also download A Squared Freeware or Ad-Aware Personal. Those are free and will help you get rid of spyware. If you've really got a problem, you can go to the McAfee website and download and run their stinger. Oh, and from the looks of your avatar, I'd come over and do this for you, LOL! Sweet!

I had the same issue. Spybot, Adaware, and Norton did not help. I had a ton of computer ppl tell me to do a back up and restore and all other kinds of complicated stuff. I did it and it did not work either. Finally, PC Pitstop Optimizer worked great. No problems for the past 8 months, so far :)

Use Ewido Antispyware, the free version along with Hijackthis. That should take care of your problem. Install Pop up cop to protect urself from malicious scripts and check your antivirus. Avast is a great one, and its free.

if it was just spyware you could download adaware from www.download.com and it would remove it for you but since it's the dread INFECTED spyware you'll need to swing a chicken over your head first.
